HFCC Saturday 3.0+ League New League Starting January 29th!
HFCC league play is back by popular demand! The league is geared for the more experienced players 3.0+. That would be folks playing for a while, who know the rules, know scoring and can be competitive with most folks.
The regular league will go on for 6 weeks. Barring any other interruptions in schedule, the last week will be 3/5. We will then have a playoff / championship round on 3/12. Format TBD.
ENTRY: Entries are on a first come basis. Session placement will ultimately be at the discretion of the league manager with the objective to have a balanced number of players in each group.
Cost: $27 per player; sub $10.
FORMAT:
Each week players will be placed into groups of 4 or 5 (depending on the number of registered players) and you will play 3-4 games rotating with the others in your group. Games are played to 11 (if there are 5 in your group) or 15 if there are 4 in your group. The next week, you will grouped based on point standings. The standing are based the percentage of total points won If there is a tie then point differential will be the tie-breaker. So in week 1, if you won ALL of your point (either 45 or 44 depending on # of games played, you will be at 100%. Let say your games were close; you won 11-9, your point differential is +2. If someone else won all of their points but they won 11-7 their point differential is +4 putting them ahead of you. If after these two criteria if there is a tie, then it will be determined by the total # of points played in the season. If the players involved never missed a game then Jay will pick the winner (bribes will be accepted!)
Each player will report the number of points scored for each of their games and they will be accumulated from week to week.
The format is a modified "Ladder" where groupings will be altered based on percentage of points won. So, if you consistently score 45 points (maximum: 4 games x 11 points), you will be placed in the group of others who are scoring higher. This way, we can balance the competition so everyone is having fun!
We are going with 30 players two sessions of 15 players each. We will have a substitute pool of 5-10 players.
Session 1 will start at 12pm SHARP. Please arrive at least 10 minutes before the start so that you can warm up and assist with setup.
Session 2 will start at 1:45. 5 minute warmup is permitted. Please stay and break down your net at the conclusion of your session.
